Turkey’s new amnesty law aims to advance Kurdish peace

Turkey’s parliament has approved legislation offering conditional relief to thousands of PKK members who disarm, as part of Ankara’s peace initiative. The law could suspend sentences and delay trials for eligible militants, while excluding those convicted of serious crimes. It takes effect after the PKK disbands and surrenders its weapons.
