RBI holds bank at 5.5%, flags sticky food inflation

The RBI kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25% for a second straight review, and bank rate at 5.5% citing vegetable prices that refuse to cool. Growth forecast stays at 6.9%. Industry wanted a cut; the Governor chose patience, noting that a premature cut 'costs more to reverse than to delay'. Next review: end of September.
