The password-sharing purge reaches Indian streaming

Two major streaming platforms will start blocking out-of-household password sharing in India from August, following the global playbook. An estimated 28 million Indian accounts are shared beyond the family. Platforms are betting the crackdown converts freeloaders into ₹149 mobile-plan subscribers, not cancellations.
