North Korea threatens response to US-South Korea drills

North Korea has threatened to exercise its right to self-defence over upcoming US-South Korea military drills, calling them a provocative rehearsal for war. The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises are set to begin on August 17. Pyongyang warned it would respond to what it sees as a heightened threat with a stronger deterrent, raising concerns over further weapons tests.
