Global plastics treaty talks collapse for a third time
Treaty talks in Geneva ended without a deal after 175 nations split over production caps. A bloc of oil-producing states blocked binding limits; over 100 countries, India among them, backed capping virgin plastic output. Half the plastic ever made was produced after 2004. The next round moves to Nairobi in December.
